
Son of the world-famous baritone Hermann Prey, grew up in a musical environment and studied vocal performance at the Munich University of Music with Hanno Blaschke.
He made his artistic debut as the Count in Franz Schreker’s Der ferne Klang at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. Prey’s career as a lyric baritone encompasses a wide repertoire of classical roles at major opera houses in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, and Switzerland.
Apart from opera, he is a passionate Lieder singer with numerous recordings and concerts to his credit. He was awarded the Günther Klinge Prize in 2010 for his artistic achievements.
Florian Prey directs the festival Herbstliche Musiktage Bad Urach and, since 2008, the Kleine Sommerfestival in Gauting near Munich.
